Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match winning run came to an end by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, fans and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's new album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, though. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

West Ham's sole away win this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was still that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four games.

My son advised me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.

But I am not going to do that. Instead, I really need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's home form, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
