Performer Denies Anti-Vaccine Views Following Lending His Voice To Contentious Pandemic Documentary
The acclaimed actor has lent his narration to a new documentary that challenges the safety of vaccines and commends one-time cabinet secretary RFK Jr.
The Documentary's Contentious Origins
Named "Plague of Corruption," the project is based on a bestselling book co-authored by a disgraced researcher, who gained notoriety during the health crisis for claims that Covid was caused by a bad strain of the seasonal immunization.
The book's co-author, the executive producer, has previously authored books with controversial radio host Alex Jones. Heckenlively wrote online hailing Neeson's participation in the film.
A Strong Rebuttal
The team of Liam Neeson have issued a response pushing back against claims that he holds anti-immunization views.
"Many acknowledge that misconduct might be present within the pharmaceutical industry, but that must not be equated to being against vaccines," the response states. "He never has been, and remains not, anti-vax. His considerable work with the global charity reinforces his long-held support for public-health initiatives."
The statement noted that the actor did not shape the project's messaging and that concerns about its claims should be directed to the filmmakers.
Central Themes Featured in the Film
According to the documentary, the voiceover read by Neeson makes several provocative points:
- It states that pro-immunization voices have demanded "unconditional submission" to government bodies.
- It argues that "science has become deeply politicised."
- Kennedy is interviewed claiming, "The big problem with vaccines is that they just aren't adequately tested."
- The film also criticizes Covid lockdowns, saying they caused psychological harm that cost thousands of lives.
- On the topic of Covid vaccines, it cites a view that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "risky trials."
Previous Controversy and Ongoing Issues
The documentary includes a past television report about clinical trials on children, which was later the focus of a correction by the corporation for editorial breaches.
Last month, the political figure directed the CDC to change its official position that there is no link between immunizations and autism. This claim is repeated in the film, despite a recent study from the WHO stating no evidence has been found.
A Previous Statement of Advocacy
Standing in contrast to the documentary's tone, Neeson has previously voiced strong support for vaccines in his capacity as a charity ambassador.
Two years ago, he referred to vaccines as "an extraordinary triumph," adding that "The debate about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in history."
The film concludes with Neeson's script proclaiming, "This is not the conclusion of our journey. This is the dawn of a new chapter."
