Netflix Selects Spot-On Star for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Season 3

The Secret Organization is geared up to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, although the major clash won’t take place until the third season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.

Netflix announced this week that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Bentham. The role possesses the power to change into an exact copy of anyone they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The actor, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that role reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag artist, in the live-action show, unlike the source material and animated series.

Escola will work alongside several other new cast members tasked with bringing the organization to reality, including head Sir Crocodile, played by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as another operative, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the ensemble as the ruler of the fictional land.

Even though this character is a important part of the organization, the character won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. Given the next season likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this marks a major departure in the placement of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal further changes to the narrative framework.

The actor’s combination of precise humor and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the role. Besides their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and multiple awards for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is set to return for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
