A man from Australia who vaulted over a barricade and touched actress Ariana Grande has been sent away and banned from Singapore.

The man, aged 26, was handed a penalty to nine days in prison for causing a public disturbance and has now been "banned from entering the country again," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority stated to news outlets.

He forced his way through camera crews and rushed toward the celebrity, who was attending the regional launch for the film on the thirteenth of November. Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo intervened to remove him from Grande.

Wen has a history of causing disturbances at events and celebrity events, including rushing the stage at the pop star's Australian show in the past June.

The event provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with numerous people accusing him of re-traumatising Grande.

The celebrity has mentioned dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist bombing at her concert in the UK city in several years ago took the lives of 22 individuals and affected hundreds.

In the legal process, the court heard he had attempted to intrude on the red carpet event twice, according to local news sources.

He then made a follow-up try to breach security. Protection personnel prevented him and pinned him down.

Wen later posted videos appreciating the celebrity for allowing his presence and said he was "free."

Police took him into custody the following day and brought charges against him with public nuisance, to which he confessed.

The District Judge the judicial official was cited by Channel News Asia as saying that he was looking for publicity, commenting that he was mistaken to think he would not face any penalties.

The singer has not addressed the incident.

Erivo spoke about the situation to the press, stating that she "just wanted to make sure my co-star was safe."

"I think he didn't intend us injury, but you never know with such situations, and I wanted to make sure that she was fine. That was my immediate response," she said.
